New York's Fall

Ruth Wylie
Rosary College, Crumlin

On the 11th of September
Nations unite
For no good reason
But to fight

One nation was hit
In the big apple's eye,
Now crumpled in heaps
Of rubble they lie

Thousands of innocents
Now lie in the grave,
A couple of hundred
Is all that was saved

Firemen came running to
The aid of it all
Unfortunately some,
Were destined to fall

Four planes were hijacked
On this fateful day
To cause devastation
On many innocent prey

Now all the world mourns
This barbaric act
That seems so senseless
With it's suicide pact

Peace will prevail
We all now pray,
As we can never forget
That horrendous day.
