Letter: Good Luck with the Exams

Roisin McLoughlin
St. Mary's Secondary School, Nenagh

To all Leaving Cert students,
We are about to embark upon this, the final furlong of our final school year. For many, the year has been a colourful bag of fun and games and for the more stressed-out of those among us, it has been one of utter mayhem. As the glorious russet sun rises on the morning of the 7th of June, sheer pandemonium will be rampant in our minds. The stress levels will be optimum and the stark reality will at last begin to seep in. That very day will mark the start of an eagerly anticipated few weeks, when we can finally get down to it and show off out wordly wisdom.

After the exams the long nail-biting road to the CAO will lie before us (along with a mindblowing weekend to celebrate with our fellow schoolmates!). Through all this anxious pre-Leaving Cert blues, as I personally remain oblivious to the fact that this (as many before me have informed me) is in fact the most pressurising and drawn-out exam session in ones lifetime.

Nevertheless, once the 15th of August springs upon us and the next three years of our lives are mapped out in accordance to the CAO offers, we will at last be able to relax and get on with the rest of our lives.

In short, I would like to wish all you Leaving Cert students the very best of luck in June and a big thank you to everyone at Student Xpress, for providing us with a very useful coverage on various elements of our course.

Finally, to quote from the great John Lennon: "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans".
