Troy
Phelan is a billionaire, one of the richest men in the United States of
America. But this money does not make him happy because he is confined
to a wheelchair supposedly dying of a cancerous tumour. The day finally
comes when Troy is given the task of signing a will, which will dispense
of his huge estate to his three ex-wives and six children. Troy signs
the will in front of a large audience of lawyers, family and psychiatric
doctors. Everyone is happy and leaves, convinced they're millionaires
but, seconds later, Troy changes his will and commits suicide.
The story continues to unearth secrets of Troy's past, which prove important
when it comes to the reading of the new will. Nate O' Riley is a lawyer
from Washington who needs to get out and spend some time alone away from
the hustle and bustle of the courtroom. He gets his wish when Josh Stafford
(his boss) sends him on a wild goose chase to Brazil in search of the
heiress to Troy's huge estate. While in Brazil, Nate and his crew have
many adventures while sailing the dark swamps of Brazil. This is a story
which separates the vultures from the ordinary decent people. It shows
the effects of greed on a family when money is involved and how far people
will go to get it. It is a very descriptive story, which leaves the reader
in suspense. Once you pick it up, it's hard to stop reading it.
RATING: 9/10
Even though the main plot and subplot were excellent, parts of the story
did drag on a bit, but apart from that, a good enjoyable book, well worth
a read!
